I found this guy's argument quite interesting. Even though he simplifies things and takes them to extremes I think he's got a valid point.

This guys glasses are so thick that when he's looking straight at you you can see the behind his head...Anyway, I think his column A is a little messed up. Say we cause a depression by blowing billions of dollars on protecting ourselves from global warming. How does no global warming cause a depression, but global warming causes a smiley face?
